Our First Lady
First Lady Rhoda Johnson was born September 11th, 1955 in the city of Jackson, MI. She is the proud mother of 6 children (Daniel deceased 2004), and also grandmother of 6 grandchildren. First Lady Rhoda was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost in November of 1982 under the ministry of Bishop Ira Combs Jr. at the Greater Bible Way Temple church in Jackson MI, and has been on fire for Jesus ever since.
The Lord has used Sis. Johnson in many facets of the church, especially as a soul-winner. She has been blessed with a beautiful spirit of humility and compassion which has afforded her many opportunities to witness. She has won many many souls to Christ by reaching beyond racial and social lines in order to share the gospel with everyone she can. In the spring of 2004, the Johnson family lost their son and brother Daniel Johnson to sickle cell disease. It was during this time that Sis. Johnson had drawn closer to God than she had ever been before. She will tell you that after that time, she learned that God was truly able TO DO ANYTHING, even mend a heart broken by the loss of a child. It is because of this that her faith is now stronger than ever.
She is a dedicated wife to her husband and Pastor, a committed member of the missionary department, and faithful Sunday School teacher, and an excellent example of not only what a First Lady should be, but also what a child of God should be.
“Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all…” Proverbs 31:29
