Pastor Rader Johnson
Pastor Rader Johnson was baptized in Jesus’ name on June 30th 1977 at Bethlehem Temple Church (PCAF) at the young age of 12 years old. 3 years later at age 15, he received the Holy Ghost at Omega Temple Church on January 27th, 1980.
Bro. Rader, as he was affectionately called, began serving faithfully at Bethlehem Temple, but some problems arose and his family moved their membership to Omega Temple. But because of a lack of teaching in that church, Pastor Johnson began to be discouraged because of his intense hunger for the word of God. The church began to teach that Jesus was not God, but just a mere man.
After an extensive search, Pastor Johnson found a small church with only 4 members Pastored by then Elder Ira Combs Jr. As he was attending bible class there one night he came into the knowledge of the Oneness of the Godhead and Jesus being God. Pastor Johnson’s family at the time was against the Oneness doctrine and his mother forbade him to go back to that church. But Pastor Johnson (under the advice of Bishop R.P. Paddock) took a stand and told his mother that if she did not allow him to go back to the Oneness church that he would pack his clothes and leave. Seeing the seriousness in him, she allowed him to leave the 2-God church and go to Greater Bible Way Temple. He was just 15 years old.
Pastor Rader began preaching on the street corners of Jackson at age 16 shortly after acknowledging his call to the ministry. He was a faithful member of GBWT in Jackson for 18 ˝ years serving in almost every office and capacity in the church including Associate Pastor. He had a successful television ministry that aired 3 times a week and had an average audience of 110,000 people per viewing. His pastor Bishop Ira Combs greatly inspired his preaching ministry, and the late Bishop R.P. Paddock influenced his teaching ministry.
Pastor Johnson is a man that loves the riches of God’s word. He is prominently known for his in depth knowledge of the word of God. He holds firm to the Apostolic doctrine and is determined never to compromise. It is because of this that God has given him an extraordinary gift of teaching. It has been said that Pastor Johnson has the ability to take the scriptures and make them so plain that even a child can understand.
He is a man of great humility, and has a reputation of care for the people of God that precedes him. The theme of his life is found in the words of Jesus when he said “for the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister…..” Come meet this awesome man of God, and let him leave an impression upon your life that you will never forget!
“For I will give you pastors after mine own heart who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15
